Gospel singer Testimony Jaga gives Portable 3-day ultimatum to apologise for slapping preacher

Testimony Jaga reacts to report of Portable slapping pastor at his bar

Gospel singer Testimony Jaga has called out controversial artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, demanding he apologise to a pastor whom he slapped within three days.

Earlier this week, a video surfaced online showing Portable slapping a pastor who had come to preach at his bar.

Portable who streamed the incident live on Instagram accused the pastor of driving customers away from his establishment. Infuriated by the pastor’s presence, the ‘Zazu’ crooner resorted to physical violence, claiming the clergyman was a threat to his business.

The incident sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians condemning Portable’s actions, though a minority expressed support for the singer.

Testimony Jaga in response publicly condemned the act in a post shared on his instagram page on Friday.

He captioned his message:

“@portablebaeby I am giving you three days to apologize to that man.”

Jaga further expressed that if the pastor had indeed done something wrong, the proper course of action would have been to involve the authorities, rather than taking matters into his own hands. Jaga said:

“If Portable felt the pastor was doing something wrong, why not call the police or law enforcement to handle the situation? There was no need to slap him,”

“That man is someone’s father and husband. All I ask is for Portable to apologize—to the pastor and his family. If he doesn’t, he might find himself setting an example for why such behavior won’t be tolerated.”

The gospel artist ended his statement by warning that if Portable who just welcomed a child with actress Ashabi Simple fails to apologise within three days, there could be further consequences.
