- The actor and filmmaker alongside top filmmaker Tunde Kelani and others could be seen at the airport as they touched down Ghana.
Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan and his team have arrived in Accra, Ghana to shoot scenes for the upcoming second season of the Netflix series Anikulapo.
Veteran filmmaker Tunde Kelani who travelled with the production crew announced the arrival on social media on Sunday.
“Arriving Accra’s Kotoka International Airport this morning with the Team of Anikulapo the Series,” the Saworoide director wrote in an identical post on Instagram and Facebook.
Actress and CEO of the National Film Authority of Ghana Juliet Asante also shared pictures of the crew’s arrival in Accra on Instagram.
Kunle Afolayan wrapped up shooting the Nigerian scenes in Anikulapo Season 2 at the KAP Film Village in Igbojaye on Wednesday, September 11.
Some of the actors returning from Season 1 are Sola Sobowale, Taiwo Hassan (Ogogo), Aisha Lawal, Bimbo Ademoye, Moji Afolayan, Eyiyemi Afolayan, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Owobo Ogunde, Lateef Adedimeji and Oyindamola Sanni.
The new faces joining the series include Saidi Balogun, Saga Adeolu and Antar Laniyan.
Some Ghanaian actors are also featured in the second instalment of the series in a collaboration between Kunle Afolayan Production and the National Film Authority to promote the Shoot in Ghana project.
Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre’s trailer was released on Netflix’s official Instagram account on January 30, while the series was released on March 1.
In the first episode of the series, it is revealed that Saro did not only return from the dead, but his character was sent on a mission to kill the twenty persons he resurrected to life using the magical powder obtained from the mystic bird.
Subsequent episode also revealed that Saro was later captured and returned to Oyo Kingdom where another fate awaits him.
The fate of Arolake played by Bimbo Ademoye was also revealed.
