- Big Brother issued strikes to four housemates—Handi, Kassia, Shaun, and Wanni—on Monday.
- The strikes were given for violating house rules related to conspiracy and discussions about nominations.
- The decision followed the airing of a video showing the housemates discussing whom not to nominate.
- Big Brother cited the breach of Article 16 of the house rules as the reason for the strikes.
On Monday, Big Brother issued the first strikes of Season 9 to four housemates: Handi, Kassia, Shaun, and Wanni.
The housemates received strikes for breaching the house rules on conspiracy and discussing nominations.
During Monday’s nomination session, Big Brother played a video revealing the housemates’ discussions about who should not be nominated. This breach of protocol led to the first official strikes of the season.
Big Brother’s decision followed Sooj’s victory as Head of House, which granted him immunity from eviction for the week.
In addition to the strikes, Big Brother announced that the housemates would face further punishments, though the specifics of these consequences remain undisclosed.
A new rule was also introduced, banning housemates from soliciting votes from viewers, in an effort to prevent any further rule violations.
Addressing the housemates, Biggie said in part:
“Handi, Kassia, Shaun, and Wanni, you have been issued a strike for violating Article 16 of the house rules. After a thorough review, you were found guilty of conspiracy.”

In other news, The organisers of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) have announced significant rule changes for the ninth season of the show.
The updates, revealed by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu during Sunday’s live show, include the removal of both the Custodian Challenge and the Head of House (HOH) ballot, features that were introduced earlier this season.
Initially, the Custodian Challenge was designed to give selected housemates special powers, allowing them to influence evictions while enjoying immunity from being voted out.
