US rapper, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs arrested in New York

Sean "Diddy" Combs Taken Into Custody in New York

American rapper and entrepreneur Sean Combs, known professionally as Diddy, was arrested by federal agents in a Manhattan hotel on Monday night.

The arrest followed a grand jury indictment, with Combs’ lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressing disappointment and criticism towards the US Attorney’s Office for pursuing what he considers an unjust prosecution.

Agnifilo highlighted Sean Combs’ voluntary cooperation with the investigation and his decision to travel to New York in anticipation of the charges.

In a statement, Agnifilo described Combs as a respected figure in the music industry and a devoted philanthropist, emphasizing his client’s innocence.

Agnifilo stated that Combs looks forward to clearing his name in court, maintaining that his actions demonstrate those of an innocent individual.

We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

“Sean Combs is a music icon, a loving family man, self-made entrepreneur and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire and working to uplift the Black community.

“He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York a week ago in anticipation of these charges.

“These are the acts of an innocent man and he looks forward to clearing his name in court,” he said.

Few months ago, Howard University revoked Diddy’s honorary degree amid s3xual assault charges.

The university’s Board of Trustees made the unanimous decision in light of the several allegations of s3xual assault against Diddy and a video that surfaced of him attacking his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel, actions that Howard University believes are not in line with their values.

“The Howard University Board of Trustees voted unanimously today to accept the return by Mr. Sean Combs of the honorary degree conferred upon him in 2014,” a university spokesperson told Fox on Friday.
