Davido is not on good terms with his late mum’s Edo relatives – Kemi Olunloyo calls out singer in new video

The tension between public persona and private life has never been more stark as Kemi calls into question the sincerity of Davido’s loyalty to his late mother’s lineage

Kemi Olunloyo, the self-proclaimed investigative journalist known for stirring up heated controversies, has unleashed a fiery attack on her social media, accusing Afrobeats Superstar, Davido, of being all talk and no action when it comes to his late mother’s relatives in Edo State.

Recently, Davido addressed his passionate interest in the Edo governorship election, revealing on X (formerly Twitter) that his late mother, Imade Veronica Adeleke, hailed from Edo State, which fueled his personal investment in the election’s outcome.

But Kemi wasn’t having it. Incensed by what she deemed a publicity stunt, she called out the singer for “chasing clout” online while allegedly maintaining a distant, cold relationship with his mother’s family behind the scenes.

Kemi, never one to mince words, claimed that despite Davido’s public display of pride in his Edo heritage, he’s been neglecting his roots for years. She didn’t stop there; she also dropped bombshell allegations that billionaire businessman, Deji Adeleke, Davido’s father, played a major role in this estrangement.

According to Kemi, Deji deliberately kept young Davido away from his mother’s relatives after her tragic death, even when Davido was just 9 years old.

She further hinted at cracks in Deji and Veronica’s marriage before her untimely passing, suggesting that these unresolved issues may have contributed to the strained family dynamics.

Kemi boldly urged Davido to stop using his mother’s name for political gain and instead take real action by reconnecting with her relatives in Edo. According to her, it’s time for Davido to repair the fractured ties and build the relationships he’s long neglected.
