Popular songstress, Simisola Kosoko simply known as Simi has shared on camera for the first time how her husband, Adekunle Gold, proposed to her.

The “Duduke” star, who recently appeared as a guest on the “OFFTHETOP” show with VJ Adams revealed that Adekunle Gold proposed just 10 days before her 30th birthday, and it was a big surprise for her, despite being someone who is usually hard to surprise.

Speaking about how the proposal happened on that auspicious day, Simi revealed that she and Adekunle Gold had previously attended a friend’s mother’s birthday celebration, which meant she was already fully glammed up with a cute gown and high heels unlike her usual tee and jeans.

However, when they returned home, she was exhausted, but her husband, Adekunle Gold, informed her that his uncle was having dinner at the Eko Hotel and insisted that she accompany him.

Simi responded that she couldn’t ignore it, emphasizing that it was an opportunity to get to know her husband’s family, unaware that Adekunle Gold intended to propose to her.

She stated that she is a person who barely uses makeup but on this faithful day she was because of their previous outing which Adekunle Gold used as an opportunity.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Adekunle told her to wear her heels because she has changed into slippers, and they headed to their destination with the hope of meeting then would-be in-laws.

As they neared the door, she saw candles at the entrance and praised Adekunle Gold’s family for being so cutesy completely unaware of the surprise proposal.

When she opened the door, she found balloons, candles, and flowers. Adekunle Gold then knelt down to ask her to marry him, and in her shock, she said “Yes.”
