- EFCC has debunked allegations of collecting N15M bribe from crossdresser, Bobrisky to do away with his money laundering charge.
- Bilikisu Buhari, a representative of the EFCC addressed the House of Representatives committee investigating Bobrisky’s claims.
- Buhari clarified that Bobrisky’s money laundering charges were dropped due to his confessional statement on naira abuse, denying any financial inducement or bribery.
Bilikisu Buhari, a representative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), addressed the House of Representatives committee investigating allegations against Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.
Recall that Verydarkman while presenting an audio recording alleged to be Bobrisky’s voice alleged that the crossdresser paid EFCC N15M to drop his money laundering charge.
Buhari revealed that the money laundering charges against Bobrisky were dropped following his confessional statement in court regarding naira abuse. She emphasized that the EFCC acted within its legal powers to amend the charges based on the investigation’s findings.
Buhari strongly refuted claims that any financial inducement was involved in the case, affirming that no member of the commission received any bribe. He reiterated that all actions taken by the EFCC were guided by the agency’s core values and commitment to integrity.
Buhari also made it clear that Bobrisky’s claims of a Post-No-Debit restriction on his bank accounts were untrue.
The Chairman of the committee, Ginger Onwusibe, also commented on the situation, stating that during the next session, the individual responsible for recording the audio related to the case should appear before the committee.
Bobrisky was invited to provide evidence or identify the officers he accused of soliciting a bribe, but he failed to show up for the hearing. The meeting was subsequently adjourned indefinitely, as the committee continues its probe into the matter.

According to him, Bobrisky, who is known for his feminine appearance, was placed in a special holding area to protect him from potential harm. The Deputy Controller expressed concerns that placing Bobrisky in the general cell with other male inmates, many of whom are hardened criminals, could have led to rape or even death.
The officer highlighted that the prison houses a large number of dangerous convicts, including individuals serving time for violent crimes, sexual assault, and sodomy. These conditions made it imperative for the prison officials to prioritize Bobrisky’s safety.
The Deputy Controller mentioned that Bobrisky’s feminine features could have made him particularly vulnerable in an environment filled with inmates known for sexual aggression.
Michael Anugwa further stated that if a measure like this hadn’t been taken to protect Bobrisky, Nigerians would have still dragged them for exposing the crossdresser to danger.
These unfolded in the House of Reps today, Monday 30th September 2024. The green chamber had invited Verydarkman, Bobrisky, EFCC, and the NCoS officials.
Recall that VDM presented allegations against the EFCC, alleging that Bobrisky bribed the agency with N15M to remove money laundering charge from his case and accused the NCoS of giving Bobrisky a special apartment to stay rather than him serving his jail term in prison.
