In a series of posts on X, Nigerian music star Wizkid lashed out at fellow artist Davido, delivering a barrage of criticism aimed at Davido’s personal style, music ability, and financial status.
Wizkid declared that Davido falls short in several areas, including his fashion sense, musical talent, and financial earnings, adding that Davido’s public image is inflated. The comment suggests a deep-seated rivalry between the two Nigerian music giants.
Wizkid dismissively referred to Davido as a “spoilt rich child,” implying that Davido’s wealth is primarily inherited rather than earned. He went on to criticize the people surrounding Davido, labelling them as broke and accused Davido of using his wealth to gather people around him to boost his ego.
Wizkid claimed that Davido surrounds himself with broke boys and a lawyer who follows him everywhere like Basket Mouth contrary to his lawyer who is quite occupied with a lot of tangible issues.
Wizkid accused Davido of weaponizing poverty by providing his entourage with visas and financial support, which, according to him, keeps them subservient. He dismissed Davido’s self-proclaimed title of “001” or the top artist in Nigeria, asserting that it’s only relevant in his own house, but not in the real-world music industry.
He wrote:
