- The Africa Film Academy, producers of the Africa Movie Award Academy (AMAA) have revealed the nominations for its upcoming 20th edition of the awards.
- The nomination unveiling was revealed on Wednesday, October 2, with members of the jury in attendance.
- The Weekend, Queenstown Kings, Jagun Jagun lead nominations while Efe Irele, Chidi Mokeme amongst others were also nominated.
The Africa Film Academy (AFA), the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) organisers has announced the nominees for its 2024 edition.
The nomination list was released on Wednesday at a press briefing at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.
In partnership with the Lagos government, the 20th edition of AMAA is themed ‘Celebrating African Creativity’.
‘The Weekend’, the Nigerian movie by Uche Okocha clinched 16 nominations while Femi Adebayo’s ‘Jagun Jagun’ secured seven nods.
The award ceremony will be held on November 2 at the Balmoral Hall, Sheraton, Ikeja, Lagos.
