The director noted that the tragic events in the film could have been avoided if the protagonist, Funmi, hadn’t been forced into a marriage against her will.

Opukeme stressed that the film aims to convey the importance of individual autonomy and the consequences of our actions.

In his words, “Humanity is complex. You can’t control my reaction after putting me in a tight corner. I hope people get the message that the monster we made is what will hunt us tomorrow. The message of the film is that if we had just left aJim central character alone, a lot of things wouldn’t have happened.”
