- Pastor Adeboye has reignited intense discussions with his recent, thought-provoking remarks on tithing, making waves across the Christian community.
- In a move that signals a major shift, the influential pastor took a hard stance, urging Christians to rethink their approach to tithes.
- He argued that the traditional 10% is just the starting point, but for those who are deeply rooted in their faith and walking closely with God, much more is expected.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has set the Christian world ablaze with his daring remarks on tithing, sending waves through the hearts of believers during his stirring address at the ongoing Youth Convention.
Speaking before a sea of young Christians at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Adeboye delivered a bold and transformative message that left no room for complacency.
In his powerful words, the revered cleric revealed that paying 10 per cent as tithe is simply for beginners, a stepping stone in the journey of faith, and nowhere near enough for those seeking true spiritual depth.
He didn’t hold back, telling the audience that it’s wrong to believe that the bare minimum of 10 per cent is all that’s required.
According to Adeboye, those who aspire to be at the pinnacle of success, especially when it comes to financial control, must “go far-far beyond 10 per cent.” It’s not just about meeting the standard but exceeding it, reflecting true dedication to God.
Adeboye explained;
“It is possible to be right and wrong at the same time. I will proof it to you. I’m a scientist so I know that for years we thought that light travels in straight lines….
“Later on we discovered light travels in waves. It is wrong to limit you to 10 per cent when someone is talking of 20, 30, 40 per cent. 10 per cent should be for beginners I believe God will give me an opportunity very soon to give you the details.”
