“I can’t employ you both with these hairstyles” – Office manager blasts Happie Boyz during interview (VIDEO)

The moment was both disheartening and enlightening, exposing the hard truth that sometimes, even small victories come at a price. The hunger to prove themselves, to reclaim their dignity, and to work their way back up from the shadows of their past is a mixture of frustration and determination hung in the air.

Two internet sensations, Matthew Kelechi and Amakor Johnson, better known as the Happie Boys, are back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Their recent video documenting a job-hunting expedition took a sharp nosedive, exposing the harsh realities they face due to their unique dressing and hairstyle.

Amidst the public crucifixion and scrutiny since their return to Nigeria, MC Mbakara, a devoted content creator and comedian, emerged as their unexpected champion.

He recognized their struggling plight and made it his mission to help the duo find employment, believing that a fresh start could ignite a new chapter in their lives.

With renewed hope, the Happie Boys accompanied Mbakara to an office where an eager manager was looking to hire personal secretaries.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as they were seen in room showcasing their determination to get the job. However, reality hit hard when the office manager, instead of offering encouragement, immediately expressed his disapproval of their appearance.

His disdain for their dreadlocks and casual attire was palpable, as he made it clear that their looks were red flags that could tarnish his business’s reputation.

Seeing the disappointment wash over the duo, MC Mbakara sprang into action, desperately trying to intercede on their behalf.

He pleaded with the manager to reconsider, to look beyond their appearance and see the potential within them. However, the office manager remained resolute, offering a position that was a far cry from the personal secretary roles they had dreamed of—a security officer role instead.

WITHIN NIGERIA recounts the rollercoaster ride that began for the Happie Boys in 2022 when they burst onto the scene, electrifying audiences as the viral dancing duo at Chicken Republic.

Their infectious energy and charisma quickly made them local legends, but the fame proved fleeting. A series of missteps led to their sudden firing, leaving them to grapple with a steep fall from grace.

Just when it seemed like their story might end in obscurity, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the benevolent pastor of OPM, intervened, offering them a lifeline by sponsoring their education abroad.

Unfortunately, the plot thickened as their relationship with the pastor deteriorated. Their dreams took another hit when they were deported from Cyprus, where they had sought to start anew.

Returning to Nigeria, the Happie Boys found themselves back in the trenches, living hand to mouth, and scratching the surface of their once-promising careers.

The once-vibrant duo had become shadows of their former selves, struggling to regain the spark that had captured the hearts of many.

Though Apostle Chibuzor announced his forgiveness for their past indiscretions, he remained firm in his decision not to welcome them back into his fold.

This abandonment left the Happie Boys grappling with a sense of loss, intensifying their desperation to find stability in an unforgiving world.
