Nollywood star and filmmaker, Laide Bakare, has come forward to address the whirlwind of controversies engulfing her life, from her rise in politics to her ongoing, bitter feud with fellow actress, Eniola Badmus.
In an eye-opening and unapologetic interview with media personality Seun Oloketuyi on Monday, October 7, Laide bared it all, diving deep into the drama surrounding her newfound political clout and the heated tensions that have fractured her relationship with Badmus.
In a flashback to February, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State thrust Laide into the political spotlight by appointing her as the Senior Special Assistant on Entertainment, Art, Culture, and Tourism.
The appointment was met with both applause and skepticism, but Laide, in this explosive interview, painted a vivid picture of how it all began.
She recalled first crossing paths with Governor Adeleke during a visit to the United States. Laide gushed about the governor’s warmth and his unique ability to connect with younger generations, praised him for seeing her potential.
According to her, Governor Adeleke’s charisma and his down-to-earth approach to leadership had a profound impact on her.
Speaking on her political appointment, Laide didn’t hold back about how she has embraced the challenges and rewards of her new role. She revealed that Adeleke had placed immense faith in her, trusting her with the task of elevating Osun’s entertainment and cultural sectors.
With her plans already in motion, Laide laid out her vision to empower the youth, particularly students, across Osun State.
But as her political career soared, so too did the tension between Laide and her colleague, Eniola Badmus, whose feud has now become an open secret in the industry.
Laide opened up about the boiling point of their beef, which recently exploded during a confrontation that left their colleagues stunned.
According to Laide, just a few days prior, Eniola confronted her in public, accusing her of calling her “childless.”
The allegation, Laide said, struck her deeply, as she insists she never uttered such cruel words. Instead, she clarified that she had merely offered Eniola some advice, suggesting that she consider starting a family, but the conversation had been twisted into something far more malicious.
