Renowned Reggaeton Singer El Taiger Passes Away


Prominent figure in the reggaeton music scene, El Taiger, had passed on at age 37 years old.

The news of his death comes a week after he was shot in the head.

His family has confirmed the incident through an official statement on his Instagram stories.

According to the statement his family released, El Taiger was shot on October 3 and was immediately rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Despite undergoing surgery and receiving life support, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

His family has asked fans to honor his memory by celebrating the joy he brought to many through his music.

On October 3, shortly after 7 a.m., officers responded to NW 17th St. 10 Ave and discovered El Taiger was shot in the head inside a black Mercedes SUV. And was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

“He underwent surgery and was placed on life support, but he succumbed to his injuries. From the moment of his arrival, a team of physicians at Jackson Memorial worked tirelessly to provide him with the care he needed.

“Sadly, this afternoon, El Taiger was pronounced dead and is now reunited with his beloved mother in heaven. While this is both shocking and heartbreaking, we urged his fans to honor his memory by celebrating the joy he brought to so many”, the statement read.

In a similar news, American rapper Julio Foolio was shot dead while celebrating birthday.

Local news outlet ‘News 4 Jax’ reported that the hip-hop star was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday.

The Tampa Police Department confirmed responding to a 911 call regarding a shooting at a hotel at 4:40 a.m.

In a press release, Tampa Police Public Information Officer Jonee’ Lewis stated that one person lost their life in the incident, while three others are receiving medical treatment for their injuries at a nearby hospital.

The identity of the victim is believed to be Charles Jones, pending confirmation from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
