- Fireboy has shared his opinion on the ongoing conflict among artistes in Nigerian music.
- He mentioned that disagreements are a natural part of the music scene since artistes are also human.
- Fireboy in the interview went on to discuss his latest album.
Nigerian singer cum song writer, Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML has in a recent chat with City FM dabbled into the Wizkid and Davido feud.
It’s no news that the superstar singers are rivals with their beef being reignited recently by Wizkid who called Davido quite a number of unprintable names.
Speaking on the conflict that seems to be the order of the day among artistes in the Nigerian music scene, Fireboy mentioned that disagreements are a natural part of the industry because artistes are also human. In his words:
“Everyone should just focus on what concerns them. Let artists be artists, fans be fans, and the media keep telling the stories.”
Particularly on the rivalry involving Wizkid and Davido, Fireboy said:
“Beef is just part of life. We are all human.”
He then highlighted his preference for staying out of drama just like Ladipoe stated when he was asked about his opinion on Wizkid and Davido’s feud.
Fireboy went on to discuss his latest album ‘Adedamola,’ which has collaborations with artistes like Lagbaja, Jon Baptiste, Seun Kuti, and Spinall.
According to Fireboy, the idea for collaborating with Lagbaja and Seun Kuti came from Olamide, the YBNL boss and executive producer of the album.
Disputes among artists are not uncommon in Nigerian music, with well-known conflicts spanning different times.
In the last few years, Ruger and BNXN had a disagreement but later reconciled and released an EP called ‘RnB’. Meanwhile, Davido and Burna Boy are in a public feud that appears to have no end, similar to the recent issues between Wizkid and Davido.
