Nigerian music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has sparked widespread discussion on social media following his N100 million donation to famous activist, Martins Otse, also known as Verydarkman (VDM).
Recall that VDM expressed his gratitude publicly while confirming that Don Jazzy was the one who transferred the significant sum of money to him.
The generous act has caused Don Jazzy to trend online, with many netizens, including celebrities, flocking to his social media pages to hail him and also table their demands.
While a large portion of the public has praised Don Jazzy’s act of kindness, some have taken a more critical stance towards VDM. These individuals have questioned why VDM has not returned the money, given his previous public comments.
In August, VDM had criticized several Nigerian celebrities, including Don Jazzy, for their reported financial support of controversial internet personality Bobrisky while he was in prison. This history of criticism led some to accuse VDM of hypocrisy, as he had once called out Don Jazzy for what he perceived as misplaced generosity, yet did not return the donation he received.
Many recalled how harshly VDM had attacked Don Jazzy and other public figures for giving Bobrisky money.
