Popular Nigerian singer Inetimi Timaya Odon, popularly known as Timaya, has opened up on the rising costs of producing music videos, drawing comparisons to previous years.

In a recent interview, the veteran artist addressed the common perception that musicians charge excessively for their performances, shedding light on the financial realities behind the scenes.

Timaya revealed that in earlier years, the budget for shooting a music video was approximately N1.5 million.

However, he pointed out that current production costs have surged significantly, ranging from N50 million to N100 million for high-quality visuals.

Furthermore, Timaya explained that the substantial fees charged by artists are not solely for the music itself but also cover the costs of promoting the song.
