I’m sorry for defaming you – Halima Abubakar tenders deep apology to Apostle Suleman Johnson

In this moment of vulnerability, Halima's plea for forgiveness may mark the end of one chapter, but it also opens up a deeper conversation about truth, accountability, and the cost of spreading falsehoods. How far will the power of forgiveness extend in a case where reputations were nearly shattered?

Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has finally surrendered in her bitter and scandalous conflict with renowned Nigerian cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman, after years of bombarding him with damning accusations that shook the core of both his ministry and personal life.

In an emotional and unexpected twist, Halima issued a public apology, baring her soul to the world and admitting that her accusations were false — a stunning reversal that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment and religious communities.

On Wednesday, October 23, Halima took to her Instagram page to deliver this apology, a letter soaked in remorse and regret, addressed directly to the man she once accused of the unimaginable.

For the first time, she laid down her weapons, acknowledging the fabrications she had spun for over a year—claims that not only painted Apostle Suleman as an adulterer but also accused him of causing her prolonged illness.

She owned up to tarnishing his name and admitted that the allegations of secret affairs, pregnancies, and miscarriages were nothing more than a web of lies.

This public apology comes after years of bitter conflict. In 2022, Halima Abubakar set social media ablaze with damning accusations, claimed she had an affair with Apostle Suleman, which allegedly led to her deteriorating health..

In her most controversial claim, Halima shockingly alleged that the cleric engaged in sexual activities with her while she was bleeding, and that she had been pregnant for him three times, tragically losing each child.

These accusations led Apostle Suleman to take legal action, determined to clear his name from the storm of scandal. In April 2024, the Federal Capital Territory High Court handed down a ruling in favor of the cleric, ordering the Nollywood actress to pay N10 million in damages for defamation.

Despite the court’s decision, Halima remained resolute, refusing to back down—until now.
