Lagos FCID spokesperson, Aminat Mayegun, speaks on Bobrisky’s alleged hospitalisation

The swirling rumors surrounding Bobrisky's health and the subsequent response from the FCID spokesperson embody the complexities of fame in a digital age. As the public speculates about the crossdresser's well-being, it becomes evident that such narratives often overshadow the humanity of the individuals at the center.

Aminat Mayegun, the spokesperson for the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Lagos, has firmly denied any knowledge of Bobrisky’s rumored hospitalization, fueling ongoing speculation surrounding the social media sensation.

The rumor mill went into overdrive following reports that the flamboyant crossdresser was rushed to Falomo Police Hospital after being arrested by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border. Initial claims suggested that Bobrisky experiened severe chest pain, that prompted an emergency medical intervention.

In a recent chat with TheCable Lifestyle, Mayegun asserted that she has no knowledge of Bobrisky’s health status, leaving fans and critics alike grappling with uncertainty.

“Nobody reported that to me. I am not aware. If you see it you can share with me,” she said.

The crossdresser is being detained at the FCID Alagbon following her arrest at the Seme border during an alleged attempt to flee the country.

This development comes amidst a turbulent investigation involving not only Bobrisky but also the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).

A House of Representatives committee is scrutinizing bribery allegations against these entities, adding another layer of drama to the unfolding narrative.

His ordeal started after activist VeryDarkMan shared a purported audio conversation wherein the crossdresser claimed that she paid some EFCC officials N15 million to drop money laundering charges against her.

In the recording, she also claimed that she spent her six-month jail term in an apartment rather than Kirikiri prison due to the influence of “my godfather”.

The self-proclaimed transgender later described the viral recording as “fake” and threatened to sue VeryDarkMan for alleged defamation.
