Popular Nigerian music producer Samklef has shared his thoughts on why award-winning artist Davido often experiences disrespect, despite his well-known kindness.
His comments came in response to a recent incident involving social media influencer Kortney, who criticized Davido for allegedly restricting her from sharing their interview online.
In a series of social media posts, Samklef suggested that the source of this apparent disrespect may lie in Davido’s approach to helping others.
He drew a comparison with fellow music star Olamide, who, like Davido, has helped numerous up-and-coming talents but faces far less public disrespect.
Samklef expressed the belief that Davido’s generosity sometimes seems conditional, alleging that the singer gives with an expectation for recognition and a desire for control.
He argued that Davido should stop adopting a victim mentality, asserting that he invites disrespect upon himself by trying to look good in the eyes of others.
Samklef wrote:
“Olamide has helped a lot of people than davido why are people not disrespecting him ? Davido brought it to himself! This is what happen when you are always trying to look good in the eyes of everybody! You Dey help base on expectation! Base on control.
I gat love for him he just need to stop playing victims!”
