TAMPAN: Why it took me 3 years to apologize – Nkechi Blessing [VIDEO]

Apology to TAMPAN long overdue – Nkechi Blessing in fresh statement

Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has shared a reflective post on social media, reinforcing her recent apology to TAMPAN leaders, board members and elders including Jide Kosoko, Mr. Latin, Yinka Quadri and Adebayo Salami.

The movie star over the weekend went on her knees at the Celebrities Entertainment Awards in Canada to beg for her return to the association.

On Tuesday, Nkechi Blessing acknowledged that the public apology she made was long overdue.

She said it should have been made years ago following her suspension in 2021. Nkechi added that this period of self-reflection has been an opportunity for growth.

Reflecting on her past, she admitted:

“I was that Nkechi who doesn’t listen to anybody, who doesn’t take corrections from people.”

“Now, in trying to change a lot about myself, I’ve decided to reconnect with the industry that made me who I am.”

The actress explained that her suspension was due to behaviour that was seen as rude, uncouth, disrespectful and abusive towards elders in the industry.

In the caption accompanying her post, she wrote:

CHANGE comes with a lot of soul-searching, sober reflection, and most importantly, peace within yourself — body, mind, and soul.

“The things I know now, I wish I had known earlier. But still, I’m thankful to God for direction and guidance.”

She went on to tender an “unreserved apology” to TAMPAN, addressing the board of trustees, the national central working committee, national executive council, and stakeholders within Nigeria and abroad.
