- The songwriter turned record label boss took to his official page on the photo and video sharing platform, Instagram on Tuesday to excitedly announce the new addition to his label.
- Joeboy also shared further expectations from his debut artiste.
Nigerian singer, songwriter turned label boss Joseph Akinwale widely known as Joeboy, has officially unveiled Kvng Vidarr, as the first artiste to join his record label, Young Legend.
The songwriter took to his Instagram page earlier to express excitement about the new addition to his record label. Joeboy wrote:
“Super excited to announce our first talent under Young Legend! Welcome to the family, @kvngvidarr.”
“His EP drops this Friday – show him some love!”
Vidarr, whose real name is Momoh Oshiotseameh Luke, was born in Edo state. He grew up in Ikorodu, Lagos.
In February, Joeboy unveiled ‘Young Legend’ after he exited emPawa Africa, a record label owned by Mr Eazi. He accompanied the announcement with a documentary of himself which he described as the “dawn of a new era”.
He also signed a record deal with Warner Music, a US-based company that facilitates global music distribution from his label.
Born Joseph Akinwale, the singer has won several awards and recognition for his craft.
In 2019, he won the ‘Best Artiste in African Pop’ prize at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
The singer also snagged the ‘Best Pop’ category at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival in 2020.
In November 2023, he released a 5-track extended play (EP) titled ‘Body, Soul & Spirit’.
Joeboy earlier said he knew he would be successful in the music industry after meeting Wizkid, the award-winning music star.
In March, he revealed he will be releasing an album this year.
