Controversial social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been released from detention following his compliance with bail conditions set by the court.

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) arraigned VeryDarkMan on Friday over accusations of impersonation.

He was granted bail amounting to N2 million, contingent upon the provision of two sureties who were also required to post the same amount.

In addition to the financial requirements, VDM was ordered to surrender his international passports and any other forms of identification as part of the bail agreement.

In related news, The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has taken legal action against social media critic, VeryDarkMan, over allegations of impersonating a police officer.

The controversy began when VeryDarkMan appeared in a viral video wearing a police uniform, claiming to be the “chief superintendent of police (CSP) of the online division.”

The police launched an investigation to determine the origin of the uniform and the authority behind VeryDarkMan’s actions.

On Friday, the police announced that VeryDarkMan would face court charges for unauthorized use of police uniforms.
