Custody battle: BBAfrica’s Karen Igho announces negative drug test result

BBAfrica’s Karen Igho gives update amid custody battle with estranged husband

2011 Big Brother Africa winner Karen Igho has announced that her drug test results came back negative following claims from her estranged husband Yaroslav Rakos that she is mentally unstable.

Karen shared the test results on her Instagram page on Sunday, reassuring her followers and supporters of her sobriety. She wrote:

“Thankful that my drug test results came back negative—no weed, no alcohol, no cigarettes, no drugs of any kind in my system.

“I choose to be healthy for myself and my children. Have a blessed week ahead, everyone. Thank you for all your support. I love you all, but most of all, God loves you more.”

Karen’s drug test and health updates come amid her legal battle for custody of her two children.

In October, Karen Igho wrote an open letter to her estranged husband, Yaroslav Rakos, begging for access to their children.

The one-time winner of Big Brother Africa asked him to consider joint custody of their kids and forgive her if she offended him.

Karen Igho said she believes it is possible for them to have a respectful and amicable co-parenting journey even if their union has ended

This came after the reality TV star launched a $50,000 GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for housing and legal fees to help regain custody of her children from Mr Rakos.

Karen, who married Rakos in 2014 following a nine-year relationship alleged in previous statements that her estranged husband has been abusive, accusing him of both physical and sexual assault.

According to her, Rakos has been attempting to gain full custody of their two children by questioning her mental stability.

Karen urged the public to hold Rakos accountable should anything happen to her.
