Content creators more supportive than musicians – Gilmore


Popular content creator Gilmore has stated that Nigerian content creators support each other more than musicians.

He believes that this mutual support is the key to the significant success that Nigerian content creators are experiencing.

The skit maker also emphasized that social media plays a crucial role in their success, noting that people tend to watch content on their phones more than on television nowadays.

Speaking in a recent interview with Hip TV, Gilmore said:

“Content creators enjoy massive success because it [the content-creating industry] is more supportive than the music industry.

“This is 2024; everybody is on their phone. People no longer watch TV. You can make money off social media.”

He disclosed that afrobeats singer Ayra Starr is his ideal woman while Niniola was his childhood crush.

In other news, Veteran Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa a.k.a Charly Boy has narrated how he was raped by his nanny.

He stated this during an interview on Muvmnt Studio.

Recounting his experience of being molested and getting infected with STDs as a child, Charly Boy noted that he was already visiting brothels at age 12.

In a now-trending video on social media, he further explained that he didn’t feel abused at that time because he was enjoying it. In Charly Boy’s words:

“I was raped by my nanny. I didn’t feel abused or raped. I actually enjoyed it because I didn’t know what the hell was going on. At 12, I don already contracted gonorrhea. I was going to all the brothels around.”
