Nigerian journalist, David Hundeyin, has slammed a South African critic who expressed joy over Chidimma Adetshina’s second-place finish at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant.
Adetshina, a Nigerian beauty queen, made waves in the competition by securing the first runner-up position, just behind Miss Denmark.
Her strong showing followed a turbulent period in the media, notably stemming from controversies involving South African critics.
In a tweet that stirred significant backlash, @ApheleleJody, a South African social media user, wrote:
“As long as it is not Chidimma Adetshina who won Miss Universe 2024, we good 😂.”
The comment seemed to delight in Adetshina’s second-place finish, suggesting that her not wining the crown was a source of satisfaction.
Surprisingly, David Hundeyin took to social media to roast the critic in a detailed and scathing response. Hundeyin highlighted the significant benefits Adetshina would enjoy as the first runner-up.
He wiote:
“Her package as first runner up includes $100,000 cash, a 1-year lease on a luxury apartment in New York, a $3m diamond-encrusted crown and connections and contacts to kick off a successful career in modelling and showbiz.
Your package as a guy who wears pink boxers on his Twitter display pic is that you get to keep posting and lusting over semi-nude photos of Jason DeRulo who will never notice that you exist, while the only thing you will accomplish with your life is that the vagina you tumbled out of belongs to a C-list actress in a South African soap that nobody under the age of 43 has ever watched.
Chidimma’s life is far better than yours.”
