Chidimma Adetshina, the 1st runner-up of the Miss Universe 2024 competition, has officially announced her decision to quit the world of pageantry.

In an emotional interview with Silverbird TV, Chidimma shared her reasons for stepping away from the spotlight, revealing that the experience had been traumatic for her.

“Finishing in the top 2 [at the Miss Universe competition] is still a shocker for me… Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me,” she said.

The former beauty queen explained that her decision to leave the industry is based on personal reasons and a desire to refocus on her life.

“People still don’t understand how I felt. There were times when I almost quit during the Miss Universe contest. I’m really done with pageantry. I want to focus on myself and establish who I am. And forward my education as well,” she added.

Chidimma’s decision comes after a series of notable achievements, including being crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania following her Miss Universe success.

She also won the Miss Nigeria title after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa contest due to scrutiny over her nationality.
