It’s not cool back home, bad leaders, economy in shambles – Davido warns against relocating to Africa [VIDEO]
  • Davido recently shared his perspective on the growing interest among African-Americans relocating to Africa during an appearance on The Big Homies House podcast.
  • The Afrobeats superstar expressed skepticism about this trend, pointing out the significant challenges currently facing the continent, especially in his home country, Nigeria.
  • Davido highlighted the fact that the entertainment industry in Africa has misled people from seeing these challenges.

Afrobeats superstar and Grammy nominated artiste David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has advised African Americans against returning to Africa at the moment.

While speaking in a recent interview on the Big Homies House podcast, the DMW boss and “Unavailable” hitmaker addressed the thoughts of black Americans who are planning to relocate to Africa.

Davido urged them to banish such relocation thoughts and discontinue moves in that direction because the economy in Africa, particularly his home country, Nigeria is in a serious crisis at the moment.

In addition, Davido lamented that Africans are not able to enjoy their own natural resources, one of which is oil. The 30BG boss revealed Africans pay more to gain access to their natural resources than foreigners.

The singer admitted that he is not trying to paint Africa badly, but is in fact, telling African-Americans the reality that has plagued the African continent.

Davido disclosed that the entertainment industry is what is making Africa look pleasant to the eyes, which he described as a “smokescreen” masking deeper issues. In Davido’s words:

“Leave America and go where?”

“It’s not cool back home. The economy now is in shambles.”

“We Nigerians, the exchange rate is messed up, the oil prices is too high. Imagine a country producing oil and we are paying more for oil than countries importing it. We do not have the best leaders, and that is a fact.”
