Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has opened up about his experiences with fame and its impact on his privacy.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Bobrisky expressed a sense of regret over the loss of privacy that has accompanied his rise to stardom.
He highlighted the invasive nature of social media, where every post is scrutinized and privacy is compromised, stating that he wish he was never famous.
Bobrisky noted that in Nigeria’s online community, it can be challenging to maintain personal boundaries.
He acknowledged the downsides of fame, including the constant monitoring and attention.
Bobrisky emphasized the need to keep personal information private, away from social media, to avoid unwanted attention and scrutiny.
His post reads:
“Every spirit of monitoring spirit in my life, dissapear.Imagine posting and people are trying to know your location. I lost my privacy ever since I became famous.I wish I was never famous. You just have to keep everything about you away from social Nigeriais too toxic”.
Within Nigeria recalls that Bobrisky was recently rearrested by EFCC, at the Muritala Mohammed airport, Lagos.
This was after he was arrested by the Nigerian Immigration Service over allegations of attempting to flee Nigeria to evade bribery investigations.
Earlier this week, the crossdresser was released from detention and he took to Instagram to share his new look, accompanied by a bold assertion.
However, in the late hours of October 31, 2024, the socialite boarded a plane to London after being granted bail following his arrest at the Seme border.
News of Bobrisky’s trip to London was posted online by netizens on the same flight as him, including online personality Isaac Fayose.
They claimed the flight was delayed because Bobrisky was dragged off the plane and his bags offloaded.
In a series of Instagram posts at the early hours of Friday, November 1, Bobrisky announced that he has been rearrested by EFCC.
The self-acclaimed ‘Mummy of Lagos’ alleged that he sustained injuries during the arrest and shared a video to validate his claim against EFCC.
