Basketmouth clarified that his primary motivation for producing his recent film was not for financial gain, but rather a desire to create something unique.

He revealed that during the production process of his new movie, ‘Ghetto love’, he faced notable financial challenges, including a 20% increase in expenses due to market fluctuations.

He emphasized that despite these obstacles, he is dedicated to maintaining high standards in his work.

Basketmouth reassured his fans that while he has more film projects in the works, his primary focus remains on his comedy career.

He said:

“In actual fact, it’s been a plan all along. I knew I was going to end up in the movies. So when I started comedy, I went to TV, and all along, I knew I was going to end up in movies. I enjoy making movies. So, transitioning was easy because it was already in the plan. I can make it because, by default, I’m already a storyteller based on the fact that I do comedy.

“I didn’t do this movie to make money but to create art and excellence. But if it does, by the grace of God, I’ll make the money back, and if it doesn’t, I’ll challenge myself with this project.

“I’d rather challenge myself to create something exceptional.

“Next year, I’m going on tour. I have my UK and US tours, and I’m going to have my show here in Nigeria”.
