Patrick Doyle calls out Davido over his remarks on Nigeria's economy

Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has called out Grammy-nominated singer Davido for advising foreigners against investing in Nigeria.

In a recent social media post, Patrick Doyle expressed his disappointment with Davido’s statement, claiming that the singer’s remarks about Nigeria’s struggling economy were misguided, especially given his family’s significant investments in the country.

Davido, known for his hit song “Unavailable,” had cautioned Americans not to consider relocating to Nigeria, pointing out the country’s economic challenges.

However, Doyle, in his response, pointed out an apparent contradiction. He reminded Davido that his father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, has invested $2 billion in Nigeria’s power generation sector.

According to Doyle, the singer should be more informed and thoughtful, considering his family’s substantial investment in the nation’s economy.

The actor’s criticism has sparked mixed reactions from the public. Some social media users have defended Davido, arguing that his statement was a reflection of the country’s current economic conditions.

Others, however, have questioned Doyle’s stance, pointing out that Davido is a private citizen with the right to express his opinion.
