- In a heated twist shaking Nigeria’s political scene, the arrest of well-known politician Yahaya Bello by the EFCC has sparked a frenzy. But, Verydarkman isn’t buying the official story.
- VDM, in a newly released clip, boldly called out the anti-graft agency, demanding concrete proof of Bello’s detention.
- He didn’t stop there — he laid out a series of rumors and whispers circulating the corridors of power, suggesting that the reported arrest might be nothing more than a façade.
Nigerian activist and fearless crusader, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has thrown down the gauntlet to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), challenging them to put their credibility on the line.
He has demanded that the anti-graft agency release a mugshot of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello if they truly have him in custody.
The tension surged after EFCC’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, made headlines by confirming that Yahaya Bello had been apprehended on a raft of serious allegations, including money laundering, betrayal of public trust, and the brazen misappropriation of a staggering N80.2 billion.
Eyebrows were further raised when reports revealed that Kogi’s current Governor, Usman Ododo, had personally accompanied Bello to Abuja, initiated his handover to the EFCC.
With the public’s eyes glued to this unfolding saga, VDM took to his platform with a scathing video, ripping apart the narrative that Bello’s arrest was a triumph of justice.
According to VDM, a reliable source close to the case alleged that just before his arrest, Yahaya Bello had actually visited the EFCC headquarters with a staggering 10 billion naira bribe, supposedly to smooth things over with key officials.
The activist hinted that this entire arrest saga might be nothing more than a carefully scripted performance, a show for the public eye.
Unflinching and unapologetic, Verydarkman challenged the EFCC to do what they have routinely done with other accused criminals: post Yahaya Bello’s mugshot for the world to see.
He underscored that past accused individuals had their mugshots paraded on the EFCC’s official platforms, questioning why a high-profile figure like Bello should be any different.
