- He mentioned some big names in the music game who had been dragged because of their status.
Singer B-Red has offered his view on the existence of online trolls and their impact on artists, including his cousin Davido.
In a recent interview with City 105.1, B-Red was asked about his thoughts on Davido being frequently criticized online, especially by Wizkid and his fans.
B-Red provided a thoughtful response.
He observed that online criticism is an inherent aspect of fame, noting that even music legends like Michael Jackson faced similar treatment.
B-Red emphasized that fame invites scrutiny, and it’s essential for artists to develop a thick skin to navigate the industry.
“How do you feel when he (Davido) gets dragged online, especially by the renowned star, Wizkid?” the show host asked.
“If you don’t get dragged you never blow o. Even the greats like Michael Jackson, if you post picture them go abuse you. If you’re famous everybody must have something to say. So that’s life,” B-Red responded.
Davido had earlier opened up on how being trolled and constantly being called ‘frog voice’ Inspired him.
Davido revealed that he was once disparagingly referred to as a frog on social media platforms, particularly on Twitter, due to his distinctive hoarse voice. In a bold move, he decided to reclaim the narrative and channel the negativity into a unique fashion statement.
The singer recounted, “I made a frog chain because my voice is hoarse, and they [trolls] were calling me frog on Twitter. I was like, you know what? I’m going to make a chain out of that sh*t.” The decision to create an expensive frog neck pendant became a symbolic response to those who mocked him.
