Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has opened up about his humble beginnings and the challenges he faced before achieving success.
In a candid interview with Biola Bayo on her ‘Talk to B podcast’, Ibrahim Chatta Chatta shared details about his early life, including living in a crowded room with nine people.
Ibrahim Chatta recalled his difficult past, where he had to walk long distances, most times from Agege to Ikeja because he had no money to board a bus.
He also revealed that he worked as a bus conductor for eight years, navigating various routes in Lagos in order to make ends meet.
In his words:
“I lived in a room with 9 people and it was difficult. I do walk from Agege to Ikeja back then. I became a bus conductor later. I did it for eight years of my life. Working from Iyan Oba, Oshodi Eko, from one bus to another. I have worked so hard in life, may God crown my effort”.
In another news, Ibrahim Chatta opened up on how he made N1.4bn to build his viral film village.
In a recent video that has captured the public’s attention, Ibrahim Chatta disclosed that he financed the N1.4 billion project without taking any loans or grants.
According to the actor, he obtained the substantial sum of money from an unexpected source of income during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Ibrahim Chatta, who has been making headlines for his grand film village, explained that he turned to providing personalized shout-outs during the lockdown while collaborating with fellow actor Tayo Sobola.
Each shout-out reportedly earned him about N300,000, and the high demand for these requests contributed significantly to his financial success.
The actor further revealed that he had no savings and was struggling with incomplete property projects before the film village.
He described how he had been praying for funds to finish the construction of one such property, which was stalled at the lintel level.
