- Davido has stated that people from his home country, Nigeria have the ability to survive anywhere if they can survive in Nigeria.
- The singer who recently faced backlash over an interview stated that only one thing is missing in Nigeria as a country.
- Davido restated his earlier opinion that wrong leadership is the main problem with Nigeria.
Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, aka Davido, has stated that effective leadership is the key missing ingredient for Nigeria to reach its full potential.
Featuring on the ‘Elevate Africa Convos’ podcast, Davido said Nigeria has the potential to prosper but suffers from ineffective governance that hinders progress. He stated:
“I tell people, if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere.
“I just feel the only thing missing is the right leaders to guide us. Once we get that right, I believe there’s nothing that can stop us.”
WITHIN NIGERIA earlier reported that the singer in an interview with The Morning Hustle podcast said Nigeria lacks true democracy.
This comes after Davido sparked controversy after warning African Americans against contemplating relocation to Africa, especially Nigeria, saying the country’s economy is in a “shambles” in another podcast interview.
The DMW boss and “Unavailable” hitmaker urged them to banish such relocation thoughts and discontinue moves in that direction because the economy in Africa, particularly his home country, Nigeria is in a serious crisis at the moment.
In addition, Davido lamented that Africans are not able to enjoy their own natural resources, one of which is oil. The 30BG boss revealed Africans pay more to gain access to their natural resources than foreigners.
The singer admitted that he is not trying to paint Africa badly, but is in fact, telling African-Americans the reality that has plagued the African continent.
