Blackface spoke on reviving the defunct music group, Platanshun Boiz

Nigerian music veteran, Blackface has revealed plans to revive the iconic music group Platanshun Boiz in 2024.

In a recent chat with media personality Daddy Freeze, Blackface hinted at a new music project, teasing a fresh song that’s currently in the works.

During the conversation, Blackface took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the early days of Platanshun Boiz.

He revealed that he founded the group, initially teaming up with 2Baba before introducing Faze to the fold.

Interestingly, Blackface claimed that 2Baba was initially hesitant about Faze joining the group.

Blackface also set the record straight about his role in Platanshun Boiz, emphasizing that he was the leader of the group, not 2Baba.

“I’m the head of Platanshun Boiz, not TuBaba,” he stated categorically. “I brought 2Baba to Platanshun Boiz.”

Blackface further revealed that he retained the group’s name after they parted ways, a decision that reflects his attachment to the brand he created.

In a fascinating anecdote, Blackface recalled how he coined the name Platanshun Boiz while working on a farm.

In other news, Blackface revealed that there were attempts to bring back Plantashun Boiz, a defunct music group he formed alongside Tuface and Faze.

According to Blackface, the attempts failed becaused he was not included.

The singer made the claim in a recent episode of the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ podcast.

The host, Isbae U asked Blackface if there was any chance that the group might come back together.

That was when Blackface disclosed that his colleagues had attempted to reunite without him but were unsuccessful. In his words:

Without me, they have tried and they have failed. Many times. You saw them in all those shows that they were going.”

“They tried but they failed. But what I must say is I’m the plantation. So let it be known. Forget the fake memo that they spread before.”
