- Musician, Portable has blamed Queen Dami, the late Alaafin of Oyo’s wife, for his lack of success in winning a Grammy Award.
- He claimed that her presence in his life was a major hindrance to his progress and that her departure was a result of his prayers to Ifa.
In a recent Instagram live chat with media personality Daddy Freeze, Nigerian singer Portable made some astonishing claims about his personal life and career.
The controversial singer attributed his lack of success in winning a Grammy Award to his involvement with Queen Dami, the late Alaafin of Oyo’s wife.
According to Portable, he had been experiencing a series of setbacks in his life and career, which he believed were caused by Queen Dami’s presence in his life.
He claimed that he had offered sacrifices and prayed to Ifa, seeking guidance on how to overcome his challenges. The response he received was to pray for the removal of any obstacles, whether human or otherwise, that were hindering his progress.
Portable believed that this prayer led to Queen Dami’s departure from his life. He expressed relief that she was no longer a part of his life, stating that her presence had been a major hindrance to his success.
Speaking in Yoruba, the Zazu Zeh hitmaker said:
“I gave food to Aje and I prayed to Ifa and I was told to say that anything blocking my way, whether it’s a woman or man that I accommodated that is not letting me progress, let them depart from me, so that they don’t remove my battery. Can’t you see that girl has run away? She has gone with her problems. She’s one of the reasons I have not won a Grammy Award. Assuming she wasn’t in my life, I would have won a Grammy.”

It is worth noting that Portable’s relationship with Queen Dami has been marred by controversy. In a recent development, the singer stormed her TikTok live show to rain insults and reprimand her for streaming late at night. The incident led to Queen Dami moving out of Portable’s house, marking the end of their tumultuous relationship.
