Reported injuries and deaths as stampede occurs at Queen Naomi’s children’s party

Queen Naomi's funfair turned disastrous on Wednesday, 18th December 2024

A devastating tragedy occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at a funfair organized by Prophetess Naomi Silekunola Ogunswusi, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife.

The event, which was intended to be a joyful celebration for children, took a heartbreaking turn when a stampede broke out, resulting in injuries and reported fatalities.

The funfair, held at the Islamic High School Bashorun in Ibadan, Oyo state, was designed to bring together approximately 5,000 children from across the state, aged 0 to 13 years. Queen Naomi, who had recently celebrated her son’s fourth birthday, had planned to provide gifts and sponsor the participants.

In a pre-event interview on Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Ibadan, Queen Naomi assured parents that security measures were in place to ensure the children’s safety.

However, eyewitnesses reported that the actual number of attendees far exceeded expectations, leading to overcrowding and ultimately, the tragic stampede.

The Oyo State police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident has commenced. As news of the tragedy spread, reactions poured in from shocked and saddened individuals.

Many took to social media to express their condolences and outrage, questioning how such a tragic event could occur at an event intended for children’s enjoyment.

Recall that a few weeks back, Queen Naomi had taken to social media to celebrate her son, Prince Tadenikaro, on his 4th birthday.

The proud mother shared heartwarming videos on social media, showcasing the young prince enjoying the day with his cousins.

In the footage, Tadenikaro is seen dancing and having fun, standing beside a large, beautifully decorated birthday cake.

The videos, posted on Queen Naomi’s Instagram account (@queen_silekunolanaomi_ogunwusi), quickly went viral, with fans expressing their affection for the adorable boy and his lively energy.
