Nigerian actress cum filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has shared how she had a severe eye infection while filming her newly released movie Thin Line.
In a recent post on her official Instagram page, Mercy Aigbe who revealed the eye infection caused her to halt the filming process, and subsequently led to her hospitalization posted a throwback photo of herself with a swollen, teary red eye.
Recounting the ordeal, she wrote:
“Throwback to the set of Thin Line, I woke up one morning on set and my eyes were like this! We couldn’t film, we had to break set.
“The pain that came with this was excruciating, I was hospitalized. In fact, it was a whole lot of challenges! Doctors said it was a severe infection… it was a whole lot!!!!!”
“It’s been an experience on this journey with Thin Line, a whole lot of challenges, but in all I still GIVE GOD THE GLORY. In all these, I am still standing and will keep pushing.”
The movie star also recalled someone asking her if the challenges were connected to the story in the film.
Laughing off the suggestion she said, “I don’t think so oh! 😂 This movie has taken a lot of hard work, pain, blood, and sweat!”
She further appreciated her fans for supporting the movie:
“Big thank you to everyone who has seen Thin Line in cinemas. I am loving the reviews so far!”
Before the movie’s December 13 cinema release, Mercy’s house was gutted by fire.
Sharing the aftermath of the incident on social media, the actress posted a video of the damage, saying, “Devastated! Thank God no life was lost! It is well.”
Directed by Akay Mason, Thin Line explores themes of betrayal, love and the thin boundary between forgiveness and resentment.
The film features a star-studded cast, including Iyabo Ojo, Uche Montana, Cute Abiola, Adeniyi Johnson, Yvonne Jegede, Uzor Arukwe and Mercy Aigbe herself.
