- Yul Edochie cautioned ladies against worrying about expensive wigs, suggesting that their natural hair looks good as well.
- Yul admonished any lady who can’t afford expensive hair not to kill themselves but to wash their natural hair and weave it.
As the holiday season approaches, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has shared some timely advice with women regarding their hairstyle choices.
In a recent post on his Instagram page, Yul Edochie encourages women to reconsider their desire for expensive hair extensions, suggesting that their natural hair can be just as stylish.
He recommends washing and styling their natural hair as an alternative, highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of African textures.
He reminded women that their value and quality are not defined by their physical appearance, but by their intelligence, character, and accomplishments.
He wrote:
“Ladies, If you cannot afford expensive hair this season, don’t kill yourself.
Wash your natural hair very well and weave it all back.
You’re still going to look very beautiful and proudly African.
The quality of a woman is not measured by the hair on her head but by the content of her brain”.
In another story, Yul Edochie recalls how people told a pregnant woman who took a photo with him not to post it online.
Taking to Instagram, the actor recounted a moment during a film shoot in a hospital when a pregnant woman requested a picture with him.
As she prepared to share the photo on social media, others around her cautioned against it, fearing potential backlash or negative commentary.
However, Edochie quickly encouraged her to go ahead and post the picture. He further questioned what more can be said that hasn’t been said already.
Edochie emphasized that worrying about others’ opinions can hinder one from fully living.
In his words:
“Yesterday I was filming in a hospital and a pregnant woman wanted to take a picture with me. The people there told her not to post the picture on social media, that people will say this and that. I said to her ‘post it, post it on social media and any other media you like, let them say. What will they say that has never been said before? Post it’. In this life, if you’re scared of what people will say then you’re not ready to live life.”
