- Pastor Damina, known for his unapologetically bold and controversial style, stirred a firestorm of backlash yet again, but this time, it wasn’t aimed at his usual Pentecostal peers.
- Instead, he set his sights on the Catholic faithful, unleashing a blistering critique of their core religious practices.
- Daniel Rehga and others quickly condemned Damina’s remarks, fueling an angry response from the Catholic community.
Dr. Abel Damina, senior pastor of Power City International, has faced intense backlash from Christians following his controversial remarks about Holy Communion and the perceived lack of Bible use in Catholic Churches.
In a video that has quickly gone viral, Damina took aim at the Catholic Church, accusing its members of neglecting the Bible and being easily misled by what he termed the “false” teachings of their priests.
He claimed that Catholics are essentially gullible, as they don’t engage with the Scriptures, leaving them vulnerable to manipulation.
Damina’s audacity reached a boiling point when he boldly attacked the sacred rite of Holy Communion, calling it “stupid” and mocking the traditional practice.
In the clip, he viciously described how priests hand out “stupid round white things,” claiming they represent Christ, and ridiculed the entire concept.

Among the first to respond was the outspoken social media critic, Daniel Rehga, who wasted no time calling lDamina’s attack an outright “affront” to the Catholic Church. Rehga didn’t hold back in his condemnation, denouncing Damina’s comment about the Holy Communion as nothing short of sacrilegious.
He wrote;
”Apostle Abel Damina didn’t only criticise the Catholic Church but went as far as calling the Holy Communion “stupid.” That’s enough to invalidate all his statements. For the record, Catholics do read & know the Bible; as a matter of fact, all their readings are taken from the Bible.”
