Nigerian actress cum filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has announced that her highly anticipated movie, Labake Olododo, will debut in cinemas on March 28, 2025.
Iyabo shared the update on Instagram on Thursday, January 2, alongside a teaser, urging fans to get ready for what she described as a captivating cinematic experience.
“Exciting News! Get ready for the cinematic experience of a lifetime! Our epic movie, Labake Olododo, hits theaters on March 28th, 2025!” she wrote, promising dramatic twists, heart-pounding action, and unforgettable romance.
She also encouraged fans to mark their calendars for “Itunu Awe” and “Easter weekend.”
In August 2024, the mother of two unveiled the star-studded cast for the film, which includes top Nollywood actors Mercy Aigbe, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Fathia Balogun, Broda Shaggi, Muka Ray, Wumi Toriola, Tayo Faniran, Muyiwa Ademola, Ibrahim Chatta, Bimbo Akintola, Omotoyosi, Layole Oyatogun, Lololade Okunsanya, Ayo Mogaji, Nkechi Blessing, Fola Tinubu, Abeni Agbon, Femi Adebayo and herself.
The announcement was celebrated with a soiree at Iyabo’s Fespris Studio in Lekki, Lagos, bringing together cast and crew.
Directed by Biodun Stephen, Labake Olododo is a collaborative project between Iyabo Ojo, Filmone Studios and Alaba Ultimate.
Labake Olododo is a Nollywood Indigenous story that explores deep themes of truth, faith, societal norms, and personal redemption.
Iyabo Ojo whose journey as a Nollywood filmmaker spans over many decades, wears multiple hats in this production as the director and producer. She’s not only significant in Nollywood but also one of the most recognized Yoruba actresses who explored diverse genres, pushing for more quality narratives that reflect the richness of Yoruba culture and language.
In a recent social media post, Iyabo Ojo expressed her excitement about the project, describing Labake Olododo as a passion project that has been years in the making. “This story is close to my heart. It’s a film about truth, faith, and the consequences of our choices,” Iyabo said in a caption.
