Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has shared his thoughts on the complexities of achieving global peace.
In a recent Instagram post, he wondered whether God intends for the world to be peaceful, given humanity’s propensity for conflict.
Yul Edochie shared his observation that humans have a tendency to fight, often over trivial matters that could be resolved through dialogue.
He noted that this pattern of behavior has persisted throughout history, with wars and conflicts plaguing societies for centuries.
He wrote:
“Sometimes I wonder, does God really want a peaceful world?
Maybe if He did, He would have created it to be peaceful.
Cos humans too dey quarrel, always fighting each other.
I don’t understand
From centuries ago, till now, war after war.
Quarrels everywhere, humans fighting and destroying each other over meaningless things that can be resolved through dialogue.
Humans just can’t live in peace.
In a world where all of us go still die last last.
I don’t understand it”.
In another news, Yul Edochie recounts how people told a pregnant woman who took a photo with me not to post it online.
Taking to Instagram, the actor recounted a moment during a film shoot in a hospital when a pregnant woman requested a picture with him.
As she prepared to share the photo on social media, others around her cautioned against it, fearing potential backlash or negative commentary.
However, Edochie quickly encouraged her to go ahead and post the picture. He further questioned what more can be said that hasn’t been said already.
Edochie emphasized that worrying about others’ opinions can hinder one from fully living.
In his words:
“Yesterday I was filming in a hospital and a pregnant woman wanted to take a picture with me. The people there told her not to post the picture on social media, that people will say this and that. I said to her ‘post it, post it on social media and any other media you like, let them say. What will they say that has never been said before? Post it’. In this life, if you’re scared of what people will say then you’re not ready to live life.”
