Asake breaks records, becomes Nigeria’s best-selling artist of 2024

• Nigerian singer Asake has been named Nigeria’s best-selling artist for 2024, marking his third consecutive year at the top.
• The annual end-of-the-year chart by TurnTable declares Asake as the No. 1 artist, overtaking the country’s 3 biggest music stars.

Grammy-nominated superstar Ahmed Ololade popularly known as Asake has been named Nigeria’s best-selling artist for 2024, surpassing the industry’s top three  giants.

According to the annual chart by TurnTable, Asake outshone all other artists, marking an unprecedented third consecutive year as the No. 1 artist.

In 2024, Asake’s albums, including Mr Money With The Vibe (MMWTV) and Work Of Art, dominated the charts, with his third album, Lungu Boy, emerging as the standout project of the year.

Released in August, Lungu Boy spent 15 weeks at No. 1 and ended the year as the best-selling album.

Asake also claimed the title of No. 1 radio artist for the second year in a row, finishing the year with the highest chart points on the Official Nigeria Top 100.

His single “MMS” featuring Wizkid topped the Year-End Afro-R&B chart, and debuted at No. 1 on the Top 100 chart, where it remained for three weeks.

On streaming platforms, Asake reigned supreme, topping Apple Music and Audiomack, while his dominance extended to YouTube, where he was named the No. 1 artist in Nigeria.
