VDM slams activists for their silence on Okoya Sons' Naira abuse incident
  • Social media critic Verydarkman calls out prominent Nigerian activists for remaining silent on the case of Rasak Okoya’s sons, Raheem and Wahab, involved in a viral naira abuse incident.
  • VDM accused activists like Seun Kuti, Omoyele Sowore, Femi Falana, Mr. Macaroni, and Deji Adeyanju of being silent because the Okoya family are Yoruba.
  • The viral video showed the Okoya sons spraying naira notes at a public event, leading to public outrage and a police officer being detained for handling the currency on their behalf.
  • VDM expressed frustration over the lack of action against the Okoya sons, claiming no police officer dares to challenge them for fear of losing their job.

Social media critic Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has called out several prominent Nigerian activists for their silence on the controversial case involving the sons of billionaire businessman Chief Rasak Okoya.

The incident in question centers around Raheem and Wahab Okoya, who were filmed spraying naira notes at a public event, sparking widespread criticism.

In a recent video, VDM took aim at well-known activists such as Seun Kuti, Omoyele Sowore, Femi Falana, Mr. Macaroni, and Deji Adeyanju, accusing them of ignoring the issue despite their frequent stance against social injustice.

He questioned whether their silence was because the Okoyas are Yoruba, suggesting that their activism only extends to certain causes.

VDM slams activists for their silence on Okoya Sons' Naira abuse incident

The viral video showed a policeman detained for holding the naira notes on behalf of the Okoya sons, leading to public outrage.

VDM, who had earlier commented on Raheem Okoya’s apology for the incident, expressed his disappointment that the case was not receiving the attention he felt it deserved.

He also claimed that no police officer in the country dared to take action against the Okoya sons, fearing repercussions that could result in losing their jobs.

In his words:

If them born any officer well for this country make them touch that OKOYA SON, them no born them well enough. Where is @yelesho @bigbirdkuti @adeyanjudeji AND THE FALANAS? Where @mrmacaroni1 una no dey talk? She na because na Yoruba then una activism stop? Come on, Nigerians let’s all watch and see.”

The critic reiterated his belief that the Okoya sons should face the law for their actions and stated that he would be watching closely to see how the situation unfolds.
