Hamzat Oriyomi’s raw tears expose pain of Ibadan Stampede in first public appearance after bail (VIDEO)
  • Hamzat Oriyomi, who spent the latter part of the past year trapped behind bars alongside Queen Naomi and others, emerged from detention in an emotionally charged scene that gripped all who witnessed it.
  • His first public appearance since being granted a highly controversial bail was a moment laden with deep sorrow, raw vulnerability, and a profound sense of release—a man freed, but still burdened by the invisible chains of Ibadan stampede.
  • As he stepped into the public eye, Oriyomi was met by an eager yet tense crowd, a mix of those who had stood by him and others who couldn’t forget the storm his detention had caused.

Popular Nigerian broadcaster and passionate social commentator, Oriyomi Hamzat, was overwhelmed with emotion and unable to hold back tears as he made his first public appearance after being granted bail on charges related to the Ibadan stampede tragedy.

The scene, marked by palpable tension and heartfelt emotion, unfolded as Oriyomi stepped into the spotlight, facing a massive, roaring crowd that had gathered at his workplace, Agidigbo FM, located along Ojoo Expressway in Iworoad, Ibadan.

The crowd, a mixture of fans, supporters, and well-wishers, descended upon the station, not only to welcome him back but to offer a display of unwavering loyalty and solidarity during his most vulnerable moment.

In a video that would soon go viral, Oriyomi, as he stood before the crowd, his voice quivering with emotion, struggled to find the right words.

His emotions ran deep as he tried to express his profound gratitude to those who had stood by him through the most trying time of his life.

Oriyomi Hamzat, alongside Ooni’s former Queen Naomi and principal Abdullahi Fasasi, was recently prosecuted in connection with the tragic Ibadan stampede that claimed the lives of 35 children.

The incident had sent shockwaves through the nation, sparking widespread outrage and grief, as the deaths of so many innocent lives were tied to this horrific event.

However, on Monday, January 13, the Oyo State High Court delivered a surprise ruling, granted Oriyomi and the two other defendants a N10 million bail each.
