A video from Manchester City’s new signing, Omar Marmoush’s unveiling on Thursday, January 23, has gone viral as he shared some personal information about himself.
The club’s new signing revealed his favourite musician among other things.
The Egyptian forward, who recently joined City from German side, Eintracht Frankfurt, disclosed in an interview shared on his new club’s social media page that Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, is his favourite musician.
The interviewer asked, “Who is your favourite musician?”
Marmoush replied, “Burna Boy.”
He also disclosed that former Brazil international, Ronaldinho was his childhood football idol.
He said his biggest hobby aside from football is padel.
Omar Marmoush said his best three attributes as a player are “dribbling, fast and dangerous.”
The Common Person crooner has become one of the favourites of football stars, with top players like Virgil Van Dijk naming the Afrobeats star as one of their musical inspirations.
Omar Marmoush also joining the list shows how Burna Boy’s music is well appreciated beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Nigerian singer and hypeman Oluwafemi Oladapo, popularly known as Slimcase, is facing backlash on social media after a video surfaced, showing him prostrating before Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy.
The video captures Burna Boy walking into a club, where Slimcase is seen prostrating to greet him while greeting D’banj in an upright position.
Netizens expressed surprise and criticism, pointing out that Slimcase, at 42 years old, is significantly older than Burna Boy, who is 33.
