Jemima Osunde reveals health struggle following contaminated meal on set


Nigerian actress, Jemima Osunde, has opened up about a life-altering health battle following an incident when she ate contaminated food on set.

Reflecting on the incident that happened three years ago, in a post on X on Thursday, January 23, Osunde revealed that she got Helicobacter pylori.

It’s a type of bacteria that infects the stomach and according to the actress, after eating the food provided, she has been battling with gastroesophageal reflux disease since then. Jemima Osunde wrote:

“I’ve never regretted anything the way I regret taking that job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care.

“Got H. pylori from set food and the aftermath GERD has left me fighting for my life the last three years.”

Expressing the severity of her condition, Osunde noted that it has affected her everyday life and her entire gastrointestinal tract has become her “greatest op.” She added:

“The past month has really been something. sigh. My own stomach is my greatest op. Actually, my entire GIT.”

Fans responded with sympathy, sharing their own struggles with similar conditions and offering possible solutions.

Jemimah did not disclose the specific movie or production where the incident occurred.

Taking to her verified social media page, Motilola reflected on the challenges she overcame in the lead-up to her birthday, on Tuesday, January 21.

The actress revealed that her birthday held great significance this year after enduring numerous attacks and threats to her life.

Motilola disclosed spending 28 days in the hospital and expressed gratitude for overcoming the odds.
