The eight-day Fidau prayer for the late Alhaja Halimot Anifowoshe, mother of Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, took a dramatic turn when a verbal clash unfolded between the celebrated musician and the Alfas in attendance.

The drama began when a video surfaced online, capturing KWAM 1 allegedly using derogatory language to describe the behaviors of the Alfas during the Fidau programme.

The comments, deemed highly disrespectful by many, particularly within the Islamic clergy, sparked outrage among the Alfas, who felt slighted by the musician’s choice of words.

In a bid to address the growing dissatisfaction among the clerics, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq Onikijipa, the Grand Mufti of Ilorin Emirate, stepped in during the programme’s continuation.

Speaking with an air of authority and diplomacy, Sheikh Onikijipa directly called on KWAM 1 to apologize to the Alfas. His plea was framed as a gesture of humility and an attempt to restore peace and harmony to the gathering.

However, KWAM 1’s response added fuel to the already smoldering fire. Taking the microphone with characteristic boldness, the Fuji maestro,, in viral clip, declared unequivocally that he had neither said nor done anything wrong that warranted an apology.

According to him, issuing an apology would imply an admission of guilt, which he firmly rejected, maintaining that he was blameless in the matter.

The fallout from the drama was immediate and polarizing. Critics lambasted KWAM 1 for what they perceived as arrogance and disrespect towards the Alfas, accusing him of letting pride overshadow the solemnity of the occasion.

The Alfas themselves were not spared from criticism. Many questioned their decision to remain at the event despite their grievances, suggesting that their continued presence contradicted their claims of being deeply offended.
