Big Brother Naija reality star and actress Bamike Olawunmi Adenibuyan has won the praise of many after rescuing a suicidal mother of 3 at Megamound Estate Lekki-Ajah.
The reality star posted a video on her Instagram page that captured the moment she saved the mother of 3, who wanted to take her life because of her husband’s philandering ways.
According to Bambam, the woman’s husband has several baby mamas and was using all means to frustrate his wife.
She revealed that the suicidal woman isn’t from Nigeria, but from Malawi, and the reason she wanted to take her life was that she had no one. Sharing more details, Bambam said she was at a movie set when she heard a woman climbed a GP tank, tied a rope around her neck, and was going to commit suicide before she intervened.
Crying out for help, the reality star urged Nigerians to help her locate a good suicidal watch mentor and rehab center for the woman and her 3 kids. She said:
“Please, guys, for the safety of women, our mental health, and our children, I need someone to recommend a rehabilitation center. Anywhere, we can find someone who is trained and can manage one who is a suicide watch.
I am on a movie set, and the house behind the house, I heard a woman who climbed a GP tank tied a rope around her neck and was going to jump down and kill herself. She said her husband commanded her to climb that thing and kill herself and she has children in that house.
This man has baby mamas and all that he is using to frustrate her, and she isn’t even Nigerian; she is from Malawi. She felt alone and was going to kill herself. Please someone recommend me a suicide watch mentor and somewhere we can take her and her children.
I need a phone number or address, a helpline, or a suicide watch center. This woman almost took her life at Megamound Estate Lekki-Ajah.
Her husband, 2 brothers, and side chic are inside that house with her 3 children!!! 1 of them is still breastfeeding! People are evil! How have we lost our humanity.”.
In a follow-up post, she revealed that activist Adetoun and the Lagos State government have taken up the case. She appreciated Omoni Oboli, the producer of the movie she was on location at, for prioritizing the case at the expense of production.
“I have spoken to @justadetoun and Lagos state has taken over the case. The woman and her 3 sons are safe.
God bless everyone who called and reached out. thank you, ma @omonioboli, and the team who prioritized the case at the expense of production and stayed on the call till we sorted this family out. There are still real kind people in the world.
Please, don’t take your life because of 1 wicked son or daughter of Adam please, because of these people that made tonight happen, there is still faith in humanity.
I’m at peace now.
Prolonged exposure to domestic violence, both physical and emotional, can lead women to have mental breakdowns! Speak up and look out for women around you. Lagos Nigeria thank you”.
